During my mountaintop and valley experiences the Holy Spirit pressed upon me to pen sweet whispers as the Lord uttered them to me.
I could not understand the whispers from God in my dry times but I was determined to obey the voice of the Holy Spirit. We must be able to mount up with wings like eagles but we must also know how to come down.
The pressures of life felt like hot wax had been applied to my very bones. It took the absolute power of the Holy Spirit for me to read the bible, pray, witness, fellowship and to meditate on the word of God. God allowed me to exercise the power of my will and use the strength which was given to me at regeneration. The power lied in the coming down out of the mountain and how I lived in the valley. I had to be discipline to exercise my faith and not to continue operating in realm of my emotions. I would hear the whispers from God during my driest times, weakest moments, hurtful days and painful events.
Since I have been going from the mountaintop to the valley and vice-versa they have become as one. Now I understand that the just shall live by faith and not by emotions or sight. My individuality has been broken and my spirit has been united with my Lord, not just merged into Him, but made one with Him.

I know our relationship will never end. I know now that being a child of God is the absolute greatest privilege in life. The greatest challenge for a believer is becoming more like Christ. Each day He is transforming his children into His image and this glorifies God. I am learning to enjoy Jesus which makes it easier to glorify Him. By giving you resources and inviting your active participation, we hope to help you cultivate devotional practices that will continue long after this guidebook has been shelved.
Encounter the Spirit
I have a confession to make. For way too long, however, my journal entries were written as if to be read. Who knows? Maybe even published! A little too much polish, not enough transparency. In my conversations with Him, I can be as messy as I want to be. I can scribble, cross through, make notes in the margins, draw nonsensical pictures, and generally do whatever works in the moment.

I often journal in two colors, writing my own thoughts in black or blue ink, and what I sense may be Spirit-inspired thoughts in red. When I come across a thought that seems profound smarter than I could have thought of myself, as Asbury professor Dr. Bob Tuttle would say , I note that thought in red, like the words of Jesus in my Bible. A week or so down the road, I may come back to that entry to see how it sounds with the benefit of a little time and perspective. Often, I am amazed at how helpful those entries can be to my journey with Jesus. I do believe He still speaks into our lives.
I have encountered Him in the practice of journaling.

However, about half of those also believe a person can be under the influence of spiritual forces such as demons. Yet, about half of those same folks who make this claim also believe the Bible is completely accurate in all it affirms—the same Bible that is saturated in Holy Spirit language! The same percentage of people who do not believe the Holy Spirit is an actual being are actually more likely to believe in ghosts. In fact, the percentage of those who believe in ghosts is three times higher than it was two decades ago.
The prophet Hosea said it best: My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge Hosea This is precisely where Pentecost begins. If Jesus is who He says He is, then rules are not the point; relationships are. Obedience is not about behavior; it is a matter of the heart. Punishment is not the motivator; love is. In light of these revelations, followers of Jesus are left with a choice: change everything, or somehow try to live in two worlds at the same time.
Enter the Holy Spirit. The first followers of Jesus discovered that the Holy Spirit is the key—a supernatural encounter that links the Father-heart of Jesus to the spirit of those in pursuit. This action might not be possible to undo. Are you sure you want to continue? Upload Sign In Join.
